Specialist Officer for Joint Data Link Operations Cell (JDLOC)
We are looking for a specialist officer who thrives in the center of events, stimulated by varied tasks and the opportunity to take responsibility. You are passionate about providing the best possible support to users and operators in the Armed Forces with a high degree of freedom under responsibility.
About the Organization
The Joint Data Link Operations Cell, JDLOC, is part of the FMTIS unit and contributes to ensuring the Armed Forces' ability to communicate and lead – around the clock, year-round. We achieve this at JDLOC between the Armed Forces' platforms using data links (over radio and IP). Constantly developing and improving the Armed Forces' use of tactical data links is our guiding star. You will be able to contribute both nationally and internationally to better utilization of these. Managing operations in a multi-TDL environment is a complex challenge for JDLOC.
Main Responsibilities
As a specialist officer focusing on operations management at JDLOC, you will come into contact with several different tactical data links. Your main task will be to manage operations and support units using Link 16 via radio and ground networks via IP traffic. By allocating resources, redirecting traffic, and assisting in troubleshooting, you will become an expert in your field. You will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling completed activities and providing feedback to the units. In the role of operations manager, you will support other parts of JDLOC and be part of the development of upcoming operations management systems. Tactical data links exist in all domains and on several platforms within and outside the Armed Forces. Since JDLOC's operations largely involve support to units both nationally and internationally, there may be some travel within Sweden and abroad.
We Offer You
The organization offers great variation and complexity and places high demands on the ability to absorb technical knowledge as well as an understanding of how data links are used tactically in different arenas. You have great opportunities for professional development and the chance to broaden your knowledge in various areas of tactical data links.
- Professional development based on the organization's needs and your career goals
- Three hours of training per week during working hours, and you can receive reimbursement for training clothes and entry fees
- Salary supplement during parental leave and VAB, as well as the opportunity to exchange vacation days for additional pension contributions
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed specialist officer training
- Very good computer skills
- Driver's license B
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
Personal Qualities
As a person, you are social, have a positive attitude, and are a team player but can also work independently. You are organized, enjoy taking responsibility, and have a high security awareness. As a specialist officer in command systems, we see that you are analytical, driven, and have the ability to see the big picture and different solutions to problems. A large part of the job involves contact with users, which requires you to be pedagogical and clear in your communication. We do not limit ourselves to a specific focus from the specialist officer training but place great importance on personal qualities and your ability to learn a new area and new systems.
DESIRABLE
- Specialist officer training with a focus on command/communication
- Experience with tactical data links in theory and practice
- Experience in radio, telecommunication, and data communication
